Underground Stairs Leading to Louise Burgeois's Workshop

Material Selection: Underground
The stairs will be composed of polished concrete while the balustrades and handrails are composed of black asphalt. This creates a stark contrast and materiality and colour, further emphasising the sinister feel of the stairs.

Inspiration:Striation

Material Selection: Above Ground
The above ground stairs will again be made from polished concrete, however will be protruding out of a textured concrete block. This gives the stairs a weightless sense due to the light colours and form used as they lead to the second level.
